Sweded TV is a 10 part series commissioned by Irish state
broadcaster RTE and broadcast on TV and online via YouTube (www.youtube.com/swededtv
The shortform comic skits were created by groups of teenagers who took part in workshops run by Still Films following an online call for entries. Inspired by the YouTube phenomenon of
sweding, (that's making do-it-yourself versions of well known
films), each Sweded TV episodes is a low budget skit on a
contemporary TV series, for example LOST, Prison Break or Eastenders.
The series achieved high ratings at peaktime throughout its run and
has been selected by the Irish National Jury for Input, the
international conference to celebrate the highest quality, most
honest, innovative, provocative, courageous and challenging public
television programming worldwide (www.input-tv.org/).
